1. Aerodynamic Features

Boost your ride's style and performance with the addition of aerodynamic components. With these high-performance aerodynamic parts, your vehicle will not only look better but it will perform better. Find out for yourself how these various accessories can manipulate the aerodynamics of your vehicle.

2. Front Air Dam

Similar in purpose to the spoiler, only placed at the front of the vehicle instead of the rear, the front air dam dam disrupts the flow of air around the vehicle. Instead of simply minimizing the amount of turbulence at its location, a front air dam disrupts the flow from largely passing underneath the vehicle, which helps reduce the lift effect. Generally, a front air dam is part of a ground effects or body kit, and works with the other components to change the aerodynamics of your vehicle.

3. Side Skirts

As part of the a traditional style body kit or ground effects kit, a side skirt is installed on the sides of the vehicle, closing the gap between the bottom of the vehicle and the road. This not only gives your high-performance car or truck a lowered look, but it also helps increase your performance by enhancing the aerodynamics of your vehicle. Improve your high-performance style and handling by installing side skirts to improve the aerodynamics of your customized vehicle.

4. Side Vents

Often simply used for decoration, side vents are used to allow air to pass through the engine and back out through the vents, along the side of the vehicle. They are another important aspect of the aerodynamic accessories that can be added to your aftermarket custom vehicle. Show off a high-performance look as well as an increased performance with high-quality custom side vents.

5. Ground Effects

The aerodynamics of a standard vehicle allows fast-moving air to pass directly underneath the vehicle, which can provide something of a lift effect. This lift reduces wheel contact with the road, which reduces control. Ground effects help close the gap between the vehicle and the ground, which reduces the amount of air passing under the vehicle. This diversion of air creates an increased grip on the road, which means better handling and better performance.

6. Fender Flares

Any piece of equipment or accessory that changes the physical shape and line of your vehicle can be considered an aerodynamic element. In general, fender flarestend to fall under this category as well, even though aerodynamics isn't their primary function. However, since they are additions to the structure of the wheel well, and tend to alter the appearance of the vehicle's line, they change the way air passes around the vehicle, which could positively affect other aerodynamic accessories.

7. Window Louvers

Window Louvers allow for air to pass through the windows while keeping the elements out as well. Often times, you'll see someone's customized vehicle with the louvers simply installed over the existing window. While this maintains a sense of style, it loses its aerodynamic properties. Venting the air through these small quarter-windows reduces drag and improves the efficiency of air as it moves over the vehicle, as well as produces a dry, cool circulation of air within the vehicle.

8. Spoiler

A spoiler acts just like it's named: it spoils the flow of air coming down from the top of your vehicle, which prevents the rear from lifting during higher speeds. The basic effect of a spoiler is to improve fuel efficiency by reducing drag. Unlike automotive wings, which redirect the flow of air, spoilers merely disrupt the natural flow over the body of the vehicle, making it somewhat more fuel efficient. Spoilers are often added more for their style and look than their aerodynamic benefit, but you can count on both!

9. Diffuser

A diffuser can work well with other aerodynamic components to complete your vehicle's high-performance system. Diffusers provide a space where the difference in air speed underneath the fast-moving vehicle is not as high. Normally, the air flowing under the vehicle is much faster than the ambient air around it, which creates turbulence and lift effect. Working with other aerodynamic accessories and components, the diffuser can help improve performance and handling when traveling at high speeds.
